Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC)

The Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC), formerly known as a Chronic Disease Management Plan, is a Medicare initiative that provides eligible individuals with access to subsidised allied health services, including speech pathology.

Children who are eligible may access up to five partially Medicare-rebated speech pathology sessions per calendar year, with the current Medicare rebate set at $53.10 per session. Families can speak with their GP to determine eligibility and obtain a referral.

Private Health Insurance

Families with private health insurance that includes speech pathology cover are encouraged to contact their health fund directly to confirm their level of cover and available rebates, as benefits vary between providers and policies.

Fees

Speech pathology assessment and therapy services at AM Speech Pathology

are charged at a rate of $193.99 per hour.

30-minute session: $96.99

(most common for children aged 1.5–8 years)

45-minute session: $145.49

60-minute session: $193.99
