Welcome to AM First Steps (Preparatory School & Toddlers)
AM First Steps (Preparatory School & Toddlers) is a trusted program for children aged 1 to 5 years, designed to help young learners build strong foundations for future learning. With a strong emphasis on academic beginnings and structured development, the school provides a pathway where young minds are inspired to explore, achieve, and thrive from their very first steps into education.
Every program at AM First Steps is delivered by qualified teachers through purposeful, carefully designed coaching sessions. The school is dedicated to cultivating curiosity, confidence, and discipline while preparing students for a seamless transition into formal schooling.
AM Toddlers (1–2.5 years): A parent-assisted program that introduces children to the joy of learning through gentle instruction and child-centred experiences. The child is the focal point of the learning process, with activities guided by their unique needs and interests. Each session is fun, engaging, and sensory-rich. Children experience colour and number recognition, phonemic awareness, music, movement and playful discovery.
AM Pre-Preparatory School (2.5–3.5 years): A program that bridges discovery and structured academic instruction. Delivered through a purposeful learn through play approach, students engage in literacy and numeracy activities, fine-motor development and social growth in a supportive classroom environment.
AM Preparatory School (3.5–5 years): A structured academic program aligned with the NSW Early Stage 1 Syllabus. Students receive explicit instruction across Phonics & Word Study, Reading, Mathematics, Physical Education and Visual Arts. The program follows the Gradual Release of Responsibility framework: “I do, we do, you do”, to ensure students become confident, independent learners. Two sessions run daily, with families offered the flexibility of booking one or both.

We are not a childcare or preschool provider and are not registered under the National Quality Framework (NQF). Supervision is provided during scheduled sessions only for educational purposes. Families remain responsible for care outside of session times.
